  1. Brassavola nodosa *Lady of the Night*

Brassavola nodosa *Lady of the Night*

    SKU:Bnodosa/30

Brassavola nodosa (4N) x Brassavola nodosa 'Mas Mejor' AM/AOS (2N)

The famous Lady of the Night Orchid.  We never seem to have enough of these on our benches so we asked some friends to help us out so we can offer these in time for the holidays!

This amazing species is perfect for beginner and advanced collectors alike.  Almost almost indestructible and very warmth tolerant.  Brassavola nodosa can bloom pretty much any time of year but mid summer to fall are the highlight of the growing season.  Blooms have creamy green petals and heartshaped white lips.  Each stem can hold several blooms and as plants gain in maturity, you can expect quite a show!  The nickname comes from the fact that this extremely fragrant species can only be fully enjoyed at night.

Growing Suggestions:  This species must be grown in very well draining media, or preferably in baskets or on mounts.  Foliage is terete, and very succulent with multiple growths easily appearing in a season.  Even in small containers the mix must be very open and coarse to allow lots of air flow around the roots. Because of the fast draining media, plants require additional watering year round.  If growing in baskets or on mounts be prepared for daily summertime watering.   Bright, indirect light is needed for best growth and flower production.  Not suitable for low to medium light conditions.

We are offering Blooming Size plants well established in 3" pots.  These are expected to bloom anytime in the next 6-12 months.  We do not suggest repotting these until at least next summer.

These beautiful plants were provided by our friends at a wholesale orchid nursery in Hawaii. The parents were virus free at the time of hybridizing but because we did not raise them in our greenhouses, we can not guarantee them to be virus free as we would our own lab grown material. Otherwise, we guarantee your satisfaction and safe delivery as with other plant purchases.

  3. Ctna. Capri 'Lea' AM/AOS x Encyclia tampensis alba

Ctna. Capri 'Lea' AM/AOS x Encyclia tampensis alba

    SKU:10204/20

    Recently registered as

    Cycatonia Newberry Pink Butterflies

Ctna. Capri 'Lea' AM/AOS x Encyclia tampensis alba

A brand new hybrid that we are very excited about.  This first to flower was a very compact plant with dusky rose blooms with cream and purple lip coloring.  We expect to see a range of bloom colors from light rose to pinkish-tan.  Hopefully some of the seedlings will carry forward the Capri petal splashes.  Regardless, these will be cute and small growing plants with tight foliage habit.  Possibly free flowering in warm-climates.

Excellent for warm growing conditions and suitable for baskets or on mounts.  The first parent has Broughtonia sanguinea in its parentage, and we have found it must have well draining media at all times.  Bright, indirect light will be best.

We are offering Near Blooming Size plants growing in 2” mesh baskets.  Plants are expected to flower for the first time within 12-18 months.

Darwinara Charm 'Blue Star' HCC/AOS x Holcoglossum amesianum

    SKU:10208/30

Darwinara Charm 'Blue Star' HCC/AOS x Holcoglossum amesianum

Darling miniatures in the Vanda alliance!  These seedlings will show mostly light blue and lavender pin-wheel shaped blooms.  Extremely fragrant flowers on compact growing plants. We have bloomed some from this grex and a previous cross with excellent results.

Growing Suggestions:  These are not bred from standard sized Vandas, so they will not need extremely bright light, nor will they tolerate very high temperatures.  They are very happy in mesh baskets with some media.  Plants currently receive daily misting and once to twice a week we will water them more heavily.

We are offering Near Blooming Size plants in 3" mesh baskets.  Very Limited.
