  1. Cattleya (Ruth Gee 'Diamond Jubilee' FCC/AOS x Spring Climax)

Cattleya (Ruth Gee 'Diamond Jubilee' FCC/AOS x Spring Climax)

    SKU:OE1416/50

Cattleya (Ruth Gee 'Diamond Jubilee' FCC/AOS x Spring Climax)

(Photo shows picture of what we expect these magnificent plants to look like)

Nothing puts on a show quite like a gorgeous classic white Cattleya.  This new cross has the all the elements needed tp produce stunning specimens.  Both parents are large standards with pure white petals and a dark yellow throat and upper lip.  Flowers will be generous in size and we expect good bud count as well.  Extremely fragrant with sturdy foliage to boot.

We have a nice batch of lovely plants in 5" pots that are flowering size.  A few may bloom this year but most will wait until next fall.

These beautiful plants were provided by our friends at a wholesale orchid nursery in Hawaii. The parents were virus free at the time of hybridizing but because we did not raise them in our greenhouses, we can not guarantee them to be virus free as we would our own lab grown material. Otherwise, we guarantee your satisfaction and safe delivery as with other plant purchases.

  2. Cymbidium dayanum album

Cymbidium dayanum album 'Lady Elizabeth' CHM/AOS x self

    SKU:9233/35

Cymbidium dayanum album 'Lady Elizabeth' CHM/AOS x self

We have found that the seedlings of this award winning parent are fast growers and thrive in lower light levels than most Cymbidiums, though brighter conditions will increase bud count.

Pendant stems of cream and faintly green flowers. As plants mature, multiple bloom stems are expected each year giving this excellent specimen potential.  Thin, grassy foliage that likes lots of airflow to prevent spotting. Great for hanging pots or baskets.

These plants are Blooming Size in 3.5" pots, some are blooming now and all are expected to flower by next fall  These are ready for larger containers this season.

  3. Dendrobium trantuanii *Rare Miniature*

    Dendrobium trantuanii *Rare Miniature*

    SKU:10567/25

    Dendrobium trantuanii

This showstopping miniature is back on the scene!  Originally from Vietnam, this species is best known for its generous flower size on diminutive plants.  Short (approximately 6" tall), flattened pseudobulbs carry pairs of silvery-pale green leaves through most of the year.  Plants are at least partly deciduous, dropping leaves when they experience changes in growing conditions or climate.  (If leaves turn yellow and drop when moving the plant from one location to another this doesn't mean it is lost.)  The white and pink blushed blooms have a plastic-like appearance with a shiny texture. Slightly sweet but musty fragrance that is not overpowering.

Growing Suggestions:  Since this species has not been as widespread in cultivation up until now, some growers are still discovering the best way to cultivate plants.  They seem to appreciate pots with a loose-well draining media that still holds humidity for the delicate roots.  Can be grown on mounts but frequent watering will be needed to keep the plant hydrated.  Bright, indirect light is best for mature plants.  Younger seedlings can be acclimated from medium to bright light over time, to encourage stronger growths and better flowering.

We have a small batch of these plants happily growing in 2.5" pots.  Plants are flowering size, and some have even bloomed in the past.  New flowers are expected in the next 6-12 months, in season.

  4. Monnierara Millennium Magic *Black Orchid*

    Monnierara Millennium Magic *Black Orchid*

    SKU:BlackOrchid/40

     Monnierara Millennium Magic

One of the few true 'Black Orchids'. We are offering a limited number of these awe-inspiring plants. Arching stems hold up to a dozen sparkling black flowers with a red flushed central column. Texture is waxy and has a glossy sheen.

Plants are deciduous, dropping their foliage in late fall with new leaves to follow in the spring.  As with most plants of this kind, some lower/older leaf drop is normal at other times when season or growing conditions change. Water and fertilize regularly during the warm growing months, but reduce water and hold food during the fall and winter when plants are dormant.

We are offering plants well established in 4" pots.  All are blooming size but have not yet started flower spikes for this year.

  5. Paph. appletonianum *Species*

    Paph. appletonianum *Species*

    SKU:PaphApple/40

    Paphiopedilum appletonianum

    ('Fox Valley' AM/AOS x self)

This wonderful species is everything elegant and dainty in a ladyslipper.  Low growing, compact foliage is pale green and silver with darker flecks.  Tall stems hold pink and green blooms that seem to float in mid-air.  The awarded parent is a high-color form and we expect these to be the same.  As plants mature they will produce clumps of multiple growths that can easily be grown as specimens. (We do not recommend dividing plants unless you have experience doing so).

Growing Suggestions:   Easy to maintain and bring into the flower. These are great for most windowsill collections, alongside other Phalaenopsis and Ladyslippers. Moderate light and intermediate temperatures.  Like other ladyslippers, roots should not be allowed to dry out.  We encourage checking for water approximately twice per week.  Plants are well established and do not need repotting until at least next spring.

We have plants well grown in 4" pots and large enough to bloom in season, late this coming winter.

  6. Slc. Jeanne Wilson ‘MVO’ AM/AOS *Limited Edition*

Slc. Jeanne Wilson ‘MVO’ AM/AOS *Limited Edition*

    SKU:10209M/40

    Slc. Jeanne Wilson ‘MVO’ AM/AOS

(Slc. Kauai Starbright x Sophronitis cernua)

New Limited Edition Mericlone!  This is a compact grower with sprays of bright orange and yellow blooms.  Foliage is expected to reach no more than 10" tall when mature, with rigid pairs of rounded leaves. Very nice late winter bloomer!  Will start flowering when young and get more impressive with age.

Due to the species parentage we recommend this for cool to intermediate growing conditions.  (Not suitable for outdoors in warm climates, ask us how we know...)  Medium to bright light is best.  We are growing these in mesh baskets with large grade fir bark since good drainage is a must.

We have a small crop of plants growing in 4" mesh baskets.  These are near blooming size and expected to produce first blooms within 12-24  months.
