A gorgeous new hybrid with loads of potential! Both parents are warmth tolerant plus they have been known to flower two or more times per year.  Our goal is to create a new generation of miniature cattleyas, this time with soft, pastel shades.  There is the possibility for fragrance as well.  We suggest these for medium light levels and intermediate to warm temperatures.

  5. Rossioglossum Rawdon Jester *Clown Orchid*

    Rossioglossum Rawdon Jester *Clown Orchid*

    SKU:RossJester/40

    Rossioglossum Rawdon Jester

    (Rossioglossum grande x williamsonianum)

The species that created this orchid is sometimes known as the Clown Orchid and everybody loves a clown!  Upright stems hold oversized (5") bronze and yellow blooms with interesting patterns.  Rossioglossum is a cool growing genera in the Oncidium alliance, that has low growing, squat pseudobulbs and lush foliage.  Generally fall flowering, with impressive flower shows even on young plants.

Growing Suggestions: This is a Cool to Intermediate grower only, needing low to medium light similar to many Ladyslippers.  Temperatures above 85 degrees, along with too bright light will cause a rapid decline.  Plants should be grown in a fine bark media or sphagnum moss to retain even moisture around the roots.

Plants are Blooming Size and growing well in 4" pots.  These are expected to bloom for the first time in the next 12 months.  They do not need repotting at this time.

These beautiful plants were provided by our friends at a wholesale orchid nursery in Hawaii therefore we can not guarantee them to be virus free as we would our own lab grown material. Otherwise, we guarantee your satisfaction and safe delivery as with other plant purchases.
