Compots (Community Pots)

Carter and Holmes Orchids is first and foremost a Cattleya Orchid nursery so the majority of our offerings will be in that alliance.  Cattleyas, Laelias, Miniature and Compact Breeding and much more.

'Compots' or Community pots are how we plant seedlings being removed from flask for the first time.  Depending on the genera and age, we will use different size containers and plant varying amounts of seedlings per pot.  Please read each description carefully for more information about these offerings.   Items will sell quickly and are in very limited quantities.

**Plants in compots can be left to continue growing as is, or can be sub-divided into individual pots.  Plants are a minimum of 3-4 years from first flowering, depending on the offering.**

Compot Pricing is NET and no further discounts or promo codes apply.

We have several commercial sized compots with approximately 20 plants in each.  Planted 12/17

Pot. Hattie Sims 'Golden Globe'  x Blc. Hwa Yuan Moon 'Mendenhall'

What an interesting cross for future yellow blooms with striking red lips. Hwa Yuan Moon is a compact hybrid bred from Laelia briegeri, which will help reduce the overall size of the seedlings and increase bud count. Hattie Sims is one of our best yellow Cattleya crosses in decades and produces award quality and possibly fragrant, yellow, gold or artshade blooms on standard sized plants. We expect these seedlings to grow quickly and reach flowering size in 4" pots, or younger.
