  8. Cattleya bicolor 'Mendenhall-Beta' 4N

    Cattleya bicolor 'Mendenhall-Beta' 4N

    SKU:7757M/25

A tall, slender growing Brazilian species that loves bright light and warm temperatures. Clusters of waxy green blooms with bright fuchsia lips appear above bifoliate foliage. These are mericlones from our presumed tetraploid 'Mendenhall-Beta'. Great coloring and incredible substance.  As with most 4N, they are bit slower growing but no less vigorous.

We are offering plants growing in 2" mesh baskets and chunky tree fern media.  We have found that this species does not take well to over watering, especially during the winter months.  Our suggestion for these seedlings is to mist heavily 3 to 4 times per week during the winter, and daily during the warmer summer months. First flowers are expected within two years.
