    Cattleya chocoensis ‘Elly’ AM/AOS

    SKU:8673M/25

Cattleya chocoensis ‘Elly’ AM/AOS (syn. quadricolor and candida)

Awarded in 1979, in Colombia.  Prized for its pristine white petals with contrasting yellow and lavender throat coloring.  Blooms on this species are very round but stay slightly cupped.  Narrow, upright growth habit that makes multiple leads freely.  Grow only in well draining media and snug sized pots.  This species needs standard cattleya conditions with very bright indirect light and a day/night temperature change.  Less water in the winter months is appreciated.

Plants offered are the last available from a Limited Edition batch.  (Older leaves show some yellowing from previous repotting in warm weather, we have found this normal of the species). Plants are doing well in 2.5" pots, and expected to reach flowering size in 2-3 years.

  5. Laelia anceps var. veitchiana ‘Super Fort Caroline’ 4N

Laelia anceps var. veitchiana ‘Super Fort Caroline’ 4N

    SKU:9372M/40

Laelia anceps var. veitchiana ‘Super Fort Caroline’ 4N

Laelia anceps is a hardy growing species that hails from regions of Mexico up through southern California.  While young plants will need to be kept in temperature controlled growing conditions, mature plants will grow in a wide range of conditions.  Very, bright indirect light will be needed for the best blooms and sturdy foliage. Not suggested for indoor or windowsill collections because of light requirements and mature size.

This select tetraploid emerged from the clones we produced of ‘Ft. Caroline’.  Superb shape and heavy substance added to large, flat form make this a very special offering.  White blooms with a slate blue lip and deep gold veins in the throat appear on medium length stems.

We are offering a small group of plants growing in 4" mesh baskets.  Plants are expected to be flowering size in approximately two years, depending on conditions.

  9. Schombolaeliocattleya Newberry Lava Burst ‘Glow’

    Schombolaeliocattleya Newberry Lava Burst ‘Glow’

    SKU:9864M/25

From our hybrid of Schomburgkia undulata x Lc. Rojo.

Selected from the same grex that received an Award of Quality a few years ago. Tall showy stems of cherry red blooms show a vibrant lavender shimmer of color near the center of each bloom.

We suggest this new mericlone for greenhouse or similar culture due to how large mature plants will become. Like many Schomburgkia crosses these prefer warm, bright conditions.  Give as much very bright, indirect light as possible.  Bloom stems can be 2-3 feet tall on mature plants.
