Cattleya trianae 'A.C. Burrage' AM/AOS *Rare Species*

    SKU:8060M/25

    Cattleya trianae 'A.C. Burrage' AM/AOS

This special cultivar was named after the first president of the American Orchid Society. Our plants are tissue cultured from the original plant granted an Award of Merit from the AOS in 1939 and from the RHS in 1948.  Blooms are a soft lavender-pink with purple and yellow coloring on the lip.  Excellent round form and good substance.  This item is not often available so get yours while you can!

This is a good grower with sturdy foliage.  Requires standard cattleya conditions, meaning bright indirect light and a day/night temperature change. We are offering plants established in 2.5" pots.  We expect these to be flowering size in approximately 3 years.

  4. Cymbidium Jill 'Betty Jo. AM/AOS

    Cymbidium Jill 'Betty Jo' AM/AOS

    SKU:9717M/25

This is a great favorite even after many years in our collection. A compact, quick grower that makes arching sprays of clear, green blooms with white and rose marked lips. Mature plants easily produce multiple stems each season. Warmth tolerant but still needs a slight temperature drop to induce flowers.

  5. Cymbidium Jungle King 'Red Rooster'

    Cymbidium Jungle King ‘Red Rooster’

    SKU:9362M/25

We have the only mericlones of this exclusive parent from Everglades Orchids. Mature plants can carry as many as eight bloom stems per season, all loaded with richly colored rust-red blooms. We consider this a large growing standard. Extremely showy and very warmth tolerant.

February 2019- We are pleased to announce that just recently this plant was awarded an HCC/AOS.

  6. Epidendrum nocturnum

    Epidendrum nocturnum

    SKU:10311/30

We acquired our compact growing strain from Eucagenera, many years ago. These have been fast growers and easy bloomers. Plants grow in clumps with pale cream and tan blooms that are only fragrant in the evening and overnight hours. Great for warm climates and does well with mount or basket culture.

We have Blooming Size plants in 3” mesh baskets that are large enough to bud and flower at any time.  As they mature, plants become free-flowering year round.

  7. Laelia Coronet

    Laelia Coronet

    SKU:9635/25

    (cinnabarina x harpophylla)

We have remade this antique primary cross with select parents. Sprays of bright orange star-shaped blooms with lighter yellow and cream trumpet shaped lips. Very showy with a blooming season just right for winter shows! Very narrow, upright foliage that will blush if grown in bright light. We have found these do best in long-lasting but fast draining media so they are not disturbed too often. Can also be grown in a rock or gravel based media, and possibly on mounts.

Plants are currently growing in 2.5" clay pots in well draining mix.  First flowering can be expected as early as this winter.

    SKU:10058/25

Lc. Floralia's Azul 'Sandra' AM/AOS x Cattleya amethystoglossa coerulea 'Blue Sky'

(We are showing a photo of what we expect flowers to appear like).

A new blue cattleya offering.  The first parent is a free flower compact grower with oversized blooms.  Lovely sweet fragrance.  The species amethystoglossa will add a cluster-style bloom habit and hopefully some blue and purple petal freckles. These are showing lush green foliage with semi-bifoliate growth habit.  Expected to mainly be winter blooms but there could be some surprises!

We have a new crop of plants established in 2.5" pots.

  9. Pot. Newberry Apricot x Pot. Newberry Delight 'Mendenhall' AM/AOS

Pot. Newberry Apricot x Pot. Newberry Delight 'Mendenhall' AM/AOS

    SKU:10216/25

Pot. Newberry Apricot  x Pot. Newberry Delight 'Mendenhall' AM/AOS

    (Both parents are pictured)

This is our newest miniature to compact growing cattleya selection.  This time we have combined our favorite red parent, Newberry Delight with Newberry Apricot.  The latter is an interesting combination of Blc. George King x Soph. coccinea.  We are expecting to see a range of red and orange blooms, with very round overlapping form.  Plants will be compact growers around 10" tall when mature.  We do suggest these for cool to intermediate conditions due to the recent Sophronitis influence.

We have Near Blooming Size plants in at least 2.5" pot size.  These are expected to flower for the first time within 12-18 months.

  10. Pot. Paxton Brooks 'Orange Surprise'

Potianara Paxton Brooks ‘Orange Surprise’ x Potinara Paxton Brooks ‘Sunset Glow’

    SKU:10046/25

We flowered so many wonderful cultivars from the original grex, we had a hard time choosing our two favorites to create this sibling cross.  These seedlings are expected to be mostly compact growers, though a few larger growing plants are expected.  Flowers will be in a range of sunset tones from orange and peach to rose and some coral shades.  Warmth tolerant but the best flower coloring can appear in cooler temperatures.  Some of these will flower multiple times per year.

We have a nice crop of plants established in 2.5" pots.
