Product Description

Details

This unusual species carries the nicknames of ‘Cockleshell Orchid’ due to the shape of the lip, and ‘Octopus Orchid’ for its tentacled appearance. Regardless of the name, you will find this an easy growing and exotic choice. Bloom stems are sequential, usually appearing in the spring and continuing to produce new buds over several months time.

This species does best in Cattleya-like conditions with bright, indirect light and good airflow. Very fat, tear-dropped shaped pseudobulbs are topped with pairs of thin foliage, with the bloom stems emerging from the center of each growth. Give plenty of water year round, and keep in fast draining media.
