One of our first seedlings to flower is pictured above. Our first cross offered from the recently awarded Dendrobium Angel Baby parent.  Dwarf, almost miniature plants will carry long-lasting displays of pale pink and white blooms. Both parents are free flowering, though the biggest show of blooms will be in Winter. Plants are easy to cultivate and do not seem to drop leaves as easily as many Dendrobiums. Soft fragrance.

This brand-new offering will make a perfect gift for yourself or someone else!  Compact, almost miniature growing plants with lush foliage that has faint bronze freckles. Short infloresence only 8"-10" tall will be covered in reddish-orange blooms.  Waxy substance means long-lasting!  And blooms carry a faint spicy fragrance.   A great windowsill grower!

We are offering good sized plants growing in 3" pots, mostly with double stems already in bud stage. Plants will be ready for repotting in slightly larger containers after they finish blooming this spring (not too big, they are miniatures.)

  4. Dyakia hendersoniana

    Dyakia hendersoniana

    SKU:10422/25

(Bloom photo shown courtesy of Lourens Grobler)

We can't say enough good things about this adorable miniature with the flamingo pink blooms! Once considered an Ascocentrum, this Vanda alliance species is relatively easy to care for if you remember a few things. Great for growing indoors, and under artificial lights where space is an issue.

Low to medium light, similar to Phalaenopsis conditions are best.  Very bright light can cause dehydrated and stressed foliage.  Even plants grown in pots have unruly aerial roots which means high humidity is a plus, in addition to regular watering. Plants can be grown in pots with bark or sphagnum moss Always provide good air movement (like all orchids) so humidity will not cause bacterial spotting of the leaves.

We are offering a crop of Near Flowering Size plants in 2.5" pots.  These are expected to bloom for the first time in the coming 12-18 months.

(Maxillaria variabilis (gold) x tenuifolia aurea)

Our remake was made using the less common yellow forms of both species. We expect to see miniature yellow blooms, some with dark eyes and some with reddish freckles. The second parent is very fragrant so that may come through as well. These will prefer cool to intermediate temperatures and damp feet.

  6. Neofinetia falcata *Fragrant Species*

    Neofinetia falcata *Fragrant Species*

    SKU:10359/25

Originally known in Japan as Fukiran, which means orchid of the rich and noble, this species has been highly prized for centuries in its native country.  Dainty white blooms with a heavenly sweet fragrance grace these miniature plants from early summer and into the fall months.  An excellent choice for growing under lights or in sunny windowsills.

The vandaceous growth habit promotes multiple crowns and basal keikis which fill out small pots in little time.  We recommend medium to bright light with plentiful air flow to prevent burning the small leaves.  Plants have been proven to tolerate a wide variety of tempatures but 65-85 degrees seems to be best for strong growth year round.  Do not allow the media to become completely dry even in winter.

We are offering beautiful, multi-growth plants happily established in 2.5" pots.  These are already flowering size and can flower anytime over the next 6 to 12 months.
